Emergency Food Distribution
The SEED Food Distribution Center provides emergency food monthly. Fresh produce and food distributions are held in partnership with Forgotten Harvest and Gleaners Food Bank. Recipients participate in SEED’s Family Financial Fitness Program and also receive one-on-one financial counseling from counselors approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Housing Counseling and Education
SEED offers a pre-purchase and post education housing counseling program committed to increasing homeownership and decreasing foreclosures while providing financial education for all residents of Prince George’s County, Maryland and Wayne County, Michigan.
SEED, a HUD approved housing counseling agency, is committed to accelerating the drive to better inform, educate and prepare underserved potential homebuyers and to test innovative approaches to qualifying and preparing new default-resistant homeowners.
Family Financial Fitness Program
The Family Financial Fitness Program is an intensive yearlong program focused on moving families and young adults to financial stability for a secure future. Working sessions will include information on: credit basics, money management & budgeting, investments, insurance basics, retirement planning, savings trends, how to save on your utility bills, estate planning, and much more!
Freedom School
The CDF Freedom Schools program provides summer and after-school enrichment through a model curriculum that supports children and families around five essential components: high quality academic enrichment, parent and family involvement, social action and civic engagement, intergenerational leadership development, and nutrition, health and mental health.
